Checkmate offers positions in our working student program. Summer month long sessions, for July and August. Positions also routinely available on a longer term bases. Lessons and training. Premier facilities highlighted by superb cross country schooling. Accommodation available, stalls available. We need dedicated, eager to learn individuals ready to participate in all aspects of running a premier training centre and event site.
Duties Include
General Daily Horse Care, specific treatment of injured and rehabilitating horses, grooming and tacking and bathing of horses in training, ring crew and jump setting,riding if experience allows.
Summer Farm Care Duties such as, grass cutting, weed eating, fence painting, haying.
Horse Show Preparation setting rings and courses, flagging cross country courses, raking footing etc.
What is Provided
Stall for one horse.
Shared Accommodation with other working students.
Four lessons weekly. Private or semi-private on flat, and up to three riders in sessions over fences.
